Product Description The Ideal Choice for Perimeter Awareness The Wireless 1000 watches your property 24 hours a day to detect and send signals about approaching vehicles and people, giving you time to prepare. For use as a welcome chime or perimeter alert for your home or business, the system can be triggered by motion detectors or manually by a push-button transmitter (sold separately). And the setup is simple! Just two buttons perform all setup functions. Designed for Reliability The specially designed sensor mounts easily on walls, ceilings, fenceposts, etc., and its weatherproof housing is perfectly suited for outdoor use. Improved antenna design greatly reduces "dead spots" to make installation easier and increase reliability. Transmission codes are preset with over 8 million possibilities, virtually eliminating the possibility of interference or crosstalk. And you can choose between 50 ft long range or 15 ft fan (wide) detection pattern. Offering a transmission range of up to 1,000 ft, the Wireless 1000 gives you a high level of security and convenience in an easy-to-use, compact unit.

The best product of its type July 17, 2007 D. Way (Detroit, MI USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I've purchased other motion sensor chime alert devices, and this seems to be the best of the bunch, although it's also the most expensive. The system is very configurable, with several volume settings and different chime sounds ("ding-dong" etc, not irritating buzzing or beeps). The receiver also has a display which shows which sensors were recently triggered.
The sensors are rugged and can be configured to detect motion in a wide fan pattern, or in a narrow, long-range pattern. I've had two sensors set up in my backyard for over 2 years now, and they're still working on the original batteries, in the heat and cold.
If you want a cheaper, more bare-bones setup, you might also consider the RWA300R Reporter, which is also reliable but not quite as fancy as this.
Great - back for another December 5, 2007 C. berchock (Newark, DE) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Have the same unit for the last 4 years works great replaced the battery twice and is an outside driveway hanging on a tree. Have also have 2 sensors on this unit, very easy to distingish bonging and easy to configure. Works from a good distance actually had the main unit over the neighbor's home while we were building the home to keep and eye on the comings and goings. Worked Great and ordering one for my parents. Almost not 5 stars, but great support pushed it over July 26, 2009 Jeff Pittman (Durham, NC USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this sensor + chimebox bundle and another sensor. Easy to set up and worked fine from the first day. After a very weeks, I noticed that I was no longer getting signals from one of the sensors. I changed the battery but the unit was just dead. It had been installed in the shade, out of the rain under a screened porch so it wasn't subjected to any abuse, and the other sensor continued to work fine.
My problem was that I had thrown away the shipping info/receipt and couldn't recall where I had purchased it. I figured I would have to eat the cost of a replacement, but after calling the "contact us" number on the Optex US corporate site I eventually got referred to a support rep who gave me an RMA to send it in for replacement. Since the corporate site supports dealers and resellers, not residential end users like me, I thought this was above and beyond. So I would downgrade the product for having a sensor fail so quickly, but am very pleased at the customer service I received from an office that doesn't officially do end-user support.
NB - at this writing (7/26/09) I haven't received the replacement and will doubtless write a scathing update if it doesn't show up in a couple weeks :-)
paid for itself already January 16, 2010 Casey Perkins (Nashville, TN) I have one of these in the screened-in room that contains the back porch. It's been running for about 4 or 5 months now, and, so far as I know, has yet to have a false alarm. It went off one night at 1:30 a.m., and is sufficiently loud that it woke my wife and I up, and apparently ran the person off who had entered our porch area.
Others have explained in their reviews the features of this; I'll just say that it has already worked well for us. It gives you the extra time you need before someone attempts to break in to your house, and it will deter some of them.
The only thing I don't like about this product is that the main receiver/alarm unit relies on power from an outlet. It should have a battery backup.
OPTEX wireless annunciator system works as advertised March 23, 2010 Ricky A. Reeder I found the setup for the sensor and chimebox to be simple and straight forward. Our sensor is positioned over 400' from the chimebox, and there have been no problems with reception. The sensor picks up vehicles and pedestrians, and we haven't had a problem with false alarms. For us this product has operated exactly as advertised.
