Ionization Sensor Technology
For reliable performance and early detection, the i9070 features an ionization sensor. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.
Simple and Convenient Battery Changes with Front-Load Door
The i9070 has an easy-to-operate, front-load battery door that allows you to change the battery without having to remove the smoke alarm from the mounting bracket. This unique design will also not close if the battery is installed incorrectly, so you know with each and every change that the batteries are where they should be. For added convenience, a locking feature located on the back of the alarm lets you lock the battery door--a great option if theft or tampering is a concern.
Finally, a hush feature lets you silence nuisance alarms--ideal for alarms installed in the kitchen.
