a good product for the price February 14, 2010 A. C. Bullock (NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This driveway sensor is incredible easy to set up. All you do in install the batteries and set up a location for the sensor and the receiver. That's all there is to it. However, I'm not sure about the sensor being water tight or not, so you may want to place it in an area that doesn't receive direct rain.
Does What I Need June 22, 2010 Charles M. Lamb (wlanut cove, nc) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted a device that alerted me when someone walked under my carport. Not a siren but ding like a door chime. I put a piece of white electrical tape over the light and a piece over the bottom half of the sensor. I mounted them (I purchased 2) about chest high. No falses and I have both ends of my carport covered with one at each end. Sensor range seems to be about 25 ft. Had it now for about 3 weeks and I can't complain.... NOW the negative.. The company that sells this product is a FRAUD! They advertise this product as a SET of 2... In fact it is ONE set containing 2 pieces.. They are selling this item for double the price. When I got the first shipment, which I thought would be 2 sets I was aggravated. In order to avoid the hassle of trying to get a second one I just went back online and ordered t separate packages for the price they charged for what they called a set of 2. Now I thought I was getting these 2 from a different company but in reality it was the same company as the first, just using a different name. When that order came I checked to make sure they both worked and then I done a return for the first order. Got all my money back and they got one of their detectors switched from the second order. Since I knew I was getting the same thing and had already opened the first one, I just sent them one from the second set back. Still this company is a ripoff. This post was originally for the second order but ened up under my first one. I had already gave them a negative review concerning their advertising and pricing concerning the set of 2 ad...

A mistake was made, I got one instead of the two that I ordered and for some strange reason they refunded the entire purchase price not half, so I got free stuff... Too Kind.

As you can see it says set of two I was only shiped a set of one, told me and said there is nothing that they can do so they gave me a $15.00 coupone on my next order. connected to laptop February 14, 2010 Privatier (California) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I hacked one of the receivers, basically connecting the control line of the LEDs to the parallel port of an old laptop. The port supplies also power to the receiver. The audio output of the computer is connected to a power amplifier and speaker. A simple Tcl script reads the port, detects the alert and starts playing a recording (greeting, barking dog etc). With the alert communicated to the computer, a whole world of applications open up, where a detector for persons and animals is required.
Power consumption of the wireless sensor is low; mine has been running for 50 days from a single charge of a 9V NiCad battery.
